November 11 1918

My Darling Wife -
Vive la Amerique! Vive
la France! Le guerre est fini! I heard
this on every side to-night.
Major Dan, Chas. Wick, Shuley, Walter
Byrne and I went in to-night to
see the celebration at Vannes. The
French are frantic with delight.
They were having torch light
parades and going through the
streets singing the Marsailles and
the "Star Spangled Banner" and
yelling "Vive le Amerique". The little
children would run out in the
street and grasp your hands
and the French soldiers would
rush up and throw their arms
around your neck and kiss you
on both cheeks. And the women
- ah the women - the women
would well your husband
almost got kissed. You can
