My dear Miss White
I was very glad for your full
interesting letter though I have been slow in
acknowledging it.

You certainly had as narrow an escape
as our auto[ ?] who seem to be
again at their best as I hope you are.

President Angell certainly complimented you
very highly. The University of Michigan stands
at the very pinnacle of excellence in my estimation.

I received a letter yesterday from one of
my grand daughters in London - Susanna
Shanklin who told me of an invitation they
had received to hear Dr. David Starr Jordan
speak of Peace at the house of Madam
Selfridge - after the address they were
invited to tea & met Mr. and Mrs. Fels there
It delighted them & pleased the [Fels ?] for
we had met. They are interesting & excellent
