Dear Sister S I received your very kind letter on sunday last and believe me we were very much gratified to hear from you all and pleased to hear Miss Mary and your self were so well satisfied with the country though we did not expect any other wherin you would be from the assurances we have had of its being a very beautiful part of the the Green River country Mr Buford speaks highly of the place and I think from what [I] have heard Pa say on the subject he is anxious to purchase from him his claim. I sincerly hope you will be as happy there as ever we can be here Since you have gone and cannot return to our neighborhood to reside as neighbors for we all sincerely regret that we could not always live near each other as we were particularly attached to the family We never loved one female acquaintance as well as we do Sally Ann of all we ever made and we can hardly reconcile to our selves that we have no prospect of enjoying her society again we speak of their worth and lament her loss daily indeed we shall never forget her I am sure I wish she may be happyly married for she deserved a humble and affection ate [affectionate] husband.

You and Elizabeth must certainly come up in the Spring and do not disapoint your friends here for we shall anticipate your arrival with pleasure and will immagine often we see you comeing evry one wishes that Mrs Mccuddy or Sally Ann or some of them would come and say they would be glad to see any of the family is just what your old acquaintance say when they meet and get to talking about you tell Miss Mary her friends wish her to come back very much that they may see her once more here Mary says she is determined to come with brother if he visits Russellville and she must prepare to come up with them and and again see her old home and old neighbors with whom she has lived so long I believe I have not much news to relate that would be interesting Perhaps you have heard Nathaniel Mcclure and Nancy joined the Presbyterian church since you left here the other one of the girls is mar -

We have had very little preaching for some time at Bethel there has been none aded to the Church since you left here there was a communion in George town last sabbath unkle Stone and Palmer attended you know what excellent preaching they heard O when shall we sit together again under the sound of those precious voices we have so often heard teaching the sinner the way to happiness Some of the professors Presbyterians have been excommunicated and some others will soon want the same handling is expected I have not seen any of Mr Lynns family lately but heard they were well Christmas day they dined at Mr Chambers old Mrs Irvine has come to live with them and they gave their friends a dinner on that day

in may and if he dont get there he will write them a good letter I think he is pretty well satisfied and is not so grieved as he pretended to be at first though I only judge from appearances perhap it is the hope he has of of meeting her as he says, that makes him more contended

The people in general are in good health and seem to be moveing on much after the old sorts Give my respects to the Captain and till him he must not forget he promised to let Elizabeth come in the [page torn] and stay all summer he must be sure to fulfil it for he has but one now and he must indulge her in evrything I know her Ma will consent to her coming and you will then have comppany and nothing to prevent you You must write often to us tell Miss Mary we would be delighted to receive a letter from her tell her please to write soon. Tell Elizabeth she must write to me very soon and give me a description of the people and the face of the country and what kind of trees are in view from the house and how situated I am a little [page torn] ned to be romantic and all such will ammuse me it will give me so[page torn] ple assure to read a letter from her
