H. Hop To pickle fruit
To 8 lbs fruit
4" 4 " sugar
" 1 gr vinegar
1 orz cloves
1 " cinnamon
tie up spices in a piece of
cloth + boil it in vinegar
with as much water added
Sweet apples + raisins
make an excellent pickle
a quart is juice enough
for pears - more for apples
Pears are better steamed
+ turn the juices on them
not and after a day or two
stir them up - for pears
do not use so much spice
