Regulations for the Nome Cult Reservation, [Mossend?].

1st The supervisor, whose duty it is to see daily to the correct
administration of the reserve
The supervisor is responsible for all of the public property
on the Reservation - to me - and through him all issues are
made to the employees and the indians.
In case of an uprising among the indians that he cannot
repress by his influence & persuasion, or in case of an intru
sion by whites upon the reservation, or their molestation
of the indians on the reserve, or that wild indians shall
make a raid upon the reserve, or drive off any of the
public reservation stock, of cattle mules or horses, the su
pervisor will call in the aid of the military stationed
at Fort Wright, but in no case will he ask such aid, unless
the necessity is urgent and imperative, and then only in writing
stating clearly the necessity requiring and the aid required;
it being my positive intention, that no official communi
cation be held by this department, with the military
department of this district except in writing

The supervisor will in case of any call upon, the military
report to me-, at as early a day as possible consistant with
the public interest - the fact, with a copy of his requisition
and any answer he may receive thereto -
The employees on the reserve are under the especial
control of the supervisor, and any neglect or malconduct
on their part must be reported to me without favortism
or prejudice

The supervisor will remain upon the reservation
with his family and be entitled to two (a boy & girl)
indians to assist in the house, & two boys to assist in
the yards, corrals &c, and one to go to & from with
communications and to get the mail matter for the
reservation. With these indians the supervisor will
conduct as with the white hired help, and allow each
that performs his or her duty well, at the rate of twenty five dol
lars per year in clothing, trinkets, beads &c, that shall
be sent to the reservation for issue in indian service.
The supervisor will draw his subsistance and that of
his family from the stores, of the reservation

During the time the supervisorship shall be under the
control of Doct Wm P. Melendy, he will also be required to
give what medical attention may be necessary to the indians
