[illegible] Last July 1863 I [reccd.?] communication from you dated (Washington City - DC) informing me that the [bal.?] due me for supplies [furnished?] the [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] late ([illegible] Amt. to $1376.76?] was allowed me and a check would be forwarded to me for that Amt to [Millerton?] (Cal) Its now [illegible] [month] since I [reccd?] that [notice?] as yet come to hands If you would be kind enough to [intercede?] and get my first claim allowed, I ask your indulgence in this [illegible]. [illegible] [late?] [agent?] has written me this day from Cal. stating he had sent on a ? of each creation claim to the Dept. ? I am at present

on a visit to Montreal (Canada East) and intend to remain a short time.
