Your telegram
for the arrest of late Superintendant
Hanson was not received until
[illegible] owing to my detention in
the mountains by snow.

I have presented the telegram to
Mr. Wm H Sharp U.S Dist Attny
for Cal with all the evidences I have
and he advises me and I agree with
him in opinion that we should
have inovoices of the goods sent
to Mr Hanson before commencing
prosecution.

On my former [advice?] to you I
have stated I believe that the office
as turned over to me contains no
[accounts?] of the proceedings of any of
my predecessors and I stated the
