Hastings. I transmit the accompanying document
to you in the hope that it may enable you
to obtain payment without sending the
money back and forth to and from California
This money is not wanted for the settlement
of the [illegible] here. Please acknowledge receipt
of so much on account, when you receive the
money, or soon as the account is closed and
[illegible] I will send you copy of it, with the
