Sir The late Dr Sandars Hastings who died on the 17th September lost at sea was a surgeon in the Indian Department in this State and as such entitled at the time of his death to arrears of pay amounting to as I am informed to about 800 dollars. Enclosed I transmit certidied copy of Letters of Administration of his Estate which have been granted to me as Executor by the Probate Court of this County. I am informed that Dr Hastings during his life gave [as?] power of attorney to George [W/N?] Harrison to collect this money if he did not receive it I shall be obliged by your sending me an order for ther amount - of if any particular form of application is required to be made me - then by your sending me such form.
