Sir:
The Secretary of War instructs me to transmit to you the accompanying copies of correspondence, transmitted from San Francisco, California, to the Commissary General of Subsistence, on the subject of the support of Indians at Fort Yuma; and to request that instructions be given to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, to take the necessary measures indicated in the reference to this Department thereon endorsed.
