on the second day of September AD 1865 before me personally
appeared Adam Johnston late sub agent in California
known to me who being duly sworn did depose and say
the above items from 2 to 8 inclusive [illegible] changes of traveling
expenses contained in his quarterly account with the government
from Oct 13 1851 to January 13 1852 and that the same [illegible]
incurred by him when on business of his agency in the valley
of San Joaquin
