We the undersigned citizens of the state and county [aforesaid?] and residence on Kings River Indian farm, do hereby certify that two (2) mules belonging to the Fresno Indian agency left in the possession of Wm [William] J Campbell one of the undersigned on Kings River Indian Farm by Supt [Jos?] Y McDuffies on or about the first days of November 1859 has since died and that the loss of said mules is not to be attributed to any neglect on the part of sub agent M B Lewis and also that the said Wm [William] J Campbell former in charge of the Kings river Indian farm did in the Year AD 1856 deliver to [illegible] Henley [illegible] on the authority of [illegible] J Henley [illegible] Supt Indian Affairs for California, One other mule which mule as aforesaid has not been returned to the undersigned and that the loss of said mule also is not to be attributed to any neglect on the part of sub agent MB Lewis
