Hou. Comp. Indian Affairs
Sir Some weeks or months since
I in formed you that I was the attorney of
D. E. Hamblen to collect from the W. States what
is due him for beef thows furnished the [illegible]
interesting agent for the Indiansa at Rouns
Valley. in Augustb & Sept. 1863 nearly two years
ago my object in waiting now is to our
= Tain if the money is ready for use when
called for on whether itwill be sent in a
check. The purchaser for the Government
contracted to pay down for the cattle and
owning to his removal the money was sent
to his [illegible] who was instructed to pay
the claim but refused, and now after such
delay and [illegible] in consequence I seek [illegible] if
the department should not allow a consideration
for the use of the same.
