Office Indian Affairs San Francisco Sept 7th 1865

Sir:

I had [illegible] receipt of little from the Department under date of July 6th 1865, transmitting [tabular?] statement of funds am. to $9600 for pay of employes [employees] for the fiscal year ending Sept 30th 1865, and would [now?] respectfully state that the appropriation for the pay of employes [employees] for the fiscal year ending June 30th 1865, amounted to 12000, of this am. $9600 is accounted for as above (just received) $1200 [illegible] received by Mr Wiley the late Supt on the 8th of Jan'y last (included in statement of funds for the six months ending Dec 31st 1864) and [neither?] was received on the 18th of July last that a further sum of $[200?] was included in the statement of funds for the 2nd & 3rd [illegible] 1865, (funds received on the 29th of August) showing a deficiency yet unprovided for of $1000.

I trust the Department will see the importance of providing at an early day for this
