material. If any other cloth is cheaper in proportion to the
durability than [satinette?] it should supply its place. The
small sized woolen shirts are designed for the children, many
of whom are entirely destitute of clothing.

I have included a small amount of hardware (all of which
will be required) thinking that something might be saved to the
[Govt?] by purchasing in New York unless I am unabled to
purchase here for cash. The hoes we require are the
ordinary garden hoe, the knives, a common serviceable
article. The best quality of sickles are required, as we have
large crops of grain to harvest.

I urge the purchase and shipment of these goods
at the earliest practicable day that they may arrive here in
time to reach the Indians before winter sets in.
