Sir,

Your letter of Dec 2nd/64 explaining disbursement of money for freight on Oregon and Washington [illegible] goods and notifying me of of a remittance of $100 for the payment of drayage wharfage storage of on same is at hand and is entirely satisfactory,

In reply I have to state that I had shipped the goods before the receipt of your letter as you have learned by copies of bills of lading already forwarded to your office.

Arrangements were made with the shippers to pay the storage of and charge the amount against the goods to be collected at destination. I was therefore to no expense excepting $13.25 federal tax upon the goods. the amount of which will be deducted from the $100 we are "anticipating" and the balance of which will be held subject to your order. The amount of charges paid by shippers was $36.77 in gold.
