In sadness and misery. And so it went
for me with you what usually happens to the one
who, while at the blacksmith’s, doubted the iron was
hot, but to reassure himself, took it and
badly burned his hand. In this way, when I
only thought to be in you some great
disturbance, and burning preoccupation
of the soul now I hear it in your
response such that it burns me too much.
And the greater it is, the greater also is the desire
to release you from it. Not only is
it useful but even more virtuous to take from the soul
