J. L. Batchelder Esq

Dear Sir

I have received your plans of sarcophagus from the Committee on Lots, approved on condition that the "Supt. shall have such supervision as may be necessary to ensure the complete exemption from anything disageeable arising from its use"

To carry out the above, it will be necessary as its the case of all catacomb tombs, to ^have communication direct from the sarcophagus through the floor of the tomb to the earth, and whenever any body is placed in the sarcophagus, the sarcophagus must be hermetically sealed with cement according to the standing regulations for burial in tombs, except where the connection is made with the earth.

To put in this sarcophagus will oblige you to dispense with the use of two of the catacombs in tomb.

Yours truly

J. W. Lovering Supt

William Harris Esq: Boston.

Dear Sir:

After due examination of care orders for 1873 I fail to find among them any order to top dress with manure Lots #1405 & 1403 for the fall of 1873.

We have however received an an order for the care & Top dressing of these two Lots for 1874

Very Respectfully

Mrs. Mary E. Nichols

I learn that Messrs. Knox & Angier are to place a curb around your Lot # 4289 this spring also that they are not to do the grading & sodding

Under these circumstances if you wish the Corporation to perform that part of the work &c: replacing the sods & finishing the grading &c please give an order to that effect

Very Respectfully
