Mrs Julia Bryant

Dear Madam

I notice you have never taken the deed for your lot. Should you care to exchange the lot for one of the same size a hundred feet off. The location is a better one as the ground is higher above the lake. There will be no difference in the expense of the land, & not much difference in cost of grading & completing.

Yours very truly

Saml. C. Shapleigh Esq

Dr Sir

I have examined the stone for your steps and find that it cannot be set less than Eighty five ($85) dollars. This price covers foundation, leading & clamping & labor.

The reason the price is so much more than what I estimated is, that from the size of the stones much more foundation will be required for good work, and the place where they are delivered is inconvenient as to increase the expense considerably

If you wish us to do the work please sign & return the enclosed order

Yours truly

Dear Sir

We have been so unfortunate as to lose our female trumpeter swan & wish to obtain another. Have you one which you wish to dispose of? If so, please write me at what price.

If you have none, & can tell me where to inquire & oblige

Yours truly

J. W. Lovering

Should be glad to receive the last report of your Cemetery & shall be happy to remit any expense.
