And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that if there shall be more of the said Money granted by
his Majesty and Parliament than shall be Sufficient for the redeeming the Public Bills of Credit to be emitted by this
act aforesaid the surplus shall be and is hereby appropriated towards redeeming and sinking the Public Bills

Provided always, that if His Majesty has
or shall give his assent to an act of Assembly intituled
"An Act for erecting a City on Nuse River upon the Plantation
"called Tower Hill, fixing the Seat of Government therein and
"building a Governor's House and Public Offices in the Same."
That in that Case the Sum of four thousand five hundred pounds
thereof shall be applied to the uses and purposes in and by
the said recited Act directed. And only the Surplus thereof
applied toward [redressing?] the said Public Bills of Credit,
anything herein contained to the Contrary Nothwithstanding.

And be it further enacted, by the authority
aforesaid, That the Public Treasurers for the Time being shall
and are hereby directed out of the Money which they shall
receive as aforesaid to redeem the aforesaid Public Bills of Credit
by paying the Possessors thereof out of Such Money the Several
Sums in them specified at the rate by this Act directed, and to
take in the said Bills of Credit and produce the same to the
Assembly to be burnt. [symbol] [T?] [end symbol]

And be it further enacted, by the Authority
aforesaid, That John Starkey and Thomas Barker Esquires Public
Treasurers of this Province, shall and each of them shall on
or before the first Day of August next give Bond with Good and
Sufficient Security to our Sovereign Lord the King his Heirs
and Successors in the Sum of Ten thousand Pounds Sterling
for the Faithful discharge of the ^(trust in them reposed by this Act) [crossed out word] [illegible] [end crossed out word] Which
Bond shall be lodged in the Secretary's Office. And in Case
of a Breach of the Condition Thereof the same shall be put
in Suit, and the Damages recovered Thereon, be applied to
=wards defraying such Contingent Charges of Government
as the General Assembly shall direct; and to no other
purpose whatsoever.

And in Case either of the said Treasurers
shall fail to Comply with the Directions of the Act, in giving
such Bond and Security, he shall thereafter be Incapable of
being
