19 Dec [DECEMBER] All this day light airs from the East & pleasant. verry [VERY] smooth sea. few F [FLYRING] fish. Stearing [STEERING] SW

20 Dec [DECEMBER] this day light winds from East to N.E. & pleasant. few F [FLYING] fish few Birds. a strong SW current stearing [STEERING] NW

21 Dec [DECEMBER] This day fine brisk N.E. trade winds smooth sea stearing [STEERING] N.W. per compass. few F [FLYING] fish. no Birds no weed squally appearance. Topmast & Topgallant Std [STUDDING] sails set.

22 Dec. [DECEMBER] this day fine brisk trades from the N.E. & pleasant weather. Stearing ]STEERING] N.W. Topmast & Topgallant Std [STUDDING] sails set few F [FLYING] fish no Birds no weed. smooth sea.

23 Dec [DECEMBER] This day fine NE trades. Pleasant weather. Few F [FLYING] Fish. Stearing [STEERING] N.W. Sea verry [VERY] smooth. Bark sails heavy deep loaded

24th Dec [DECEMBER] This day fine brisk N.E. trades. Weather pleasant. Few light squalls. F [FLYING] fish. Few Bunches of green Gulf weed. Saw two Ships stearing [STEERING] West.

25th Dec [DECEMBER] This day light breeze & passing clouds. Fear I have lost the trades. Few F [FLYING] fish few bunches of weed. An old sea from the East.

26 Dec This day fresh winds & squally. Studding sails & light sails furled. Few Fish plenty weed few Birds had cross sea. Bark makeing [MAKING] much water. Pumps constantly going.

27 Dec. [DECEMBER] First part fine breezes & passing clouds. Middle squally. Variable winds from the Northward. Latter part fine breezes from the N.E. & pleasant. T. [TOP] M. [MAIN] Std [STUDDING] Sail set.

28 Dec. [DECEMBER] This day light winds & pleasant. Stearing [STEERING] NW. Gulf Weed & F [FLYING] Fish. Makeing [MAKING] slow progress. Std [STUDDING] sails set low & aloft.

29th Dec. [DECEMBER] Light breezes & passing clouds. Stearing [STEERING] NNW. No fish. Few Birds & weed. All std [STUDDING] sails set.

30th Dec. [DECEMBER] First part fresh winds & cloudy. Wind holling [HAULING?] with the [TUSS?]. Middle & latter part fresh gales & cloudy. Heavy squalls. Lost Fore Topsail.

31st Dec. [DECEMBER] Fresh gales & heavy squalls. Bark under 2 close reefed topsails.

1st Jan. [JANUARY] Fresh gale & passing clouds. Heavy sea. Much Gulf weed. Heading to the N.E.

2d Jan. [JANUARY] First & middle fresh gale & passing clouds. Heavy sea. At 8 P.M. wore to the west. At 8 am set reefed main sail, jib & Spanker. Fresh gales & bad sea. Bark labouring [LABORING] heavy. Much Gulf weed. Few Birds. Heading NW.

3d Jan. [JANUARY] Fresh gales & bad sea. At 4 am set dougle reefed M [MAIN] Topsail. Great quanties [QUANTITIES] of fresh weed. Stearing [STEERING] N.W. by N. Squally appearances. Ship labouring [LABORING] heavy.

4th Jan. [JANUARY] First part fresh winds & passing clouds & squally. Middle squally. Latter part moderate & passing clouds. All sail set. Considerable quantity of dead lookoking [LOOKING] weed few Birds.
