Tuesday, October 29, 1918A cloudy day and a little rain here. Ben just got in from Altavista. Says that it rained hard there. He went for a load of lumber. The rest of us stripped tobacco all day. We finished a curing for Mr Owen and commenced one for Paul. Heard today that Doris Brumfield broke her arm yesterday. I am so sorry for her and her mother. Would go to see her if it wont for there is so much sickness a bout. Heard to day that Mr Charles Rorner(?) was buried to day he was a solder in the Civil War.
