Sea very smooth. Barometer 30.05 to 29.72. Keeper showing two visitors in Tower???. 1st asst went fishing. 2nd asst returned to Sta at 11:15 A.M. January 2: Gale to fresh breeze S. East to South these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours rain. Last part of 24 hours fair weather. Sea quite smooth. Barometer 29.62 to 29.92. General duties for the day. 1st asst went fishing. Keeper went to Newport to have his teeth repaired. Left the Sta at 9:30 A.M. January 3: Moderate to fresh breeze S. East to South these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain.
