Cleveland was admitted a member of this society and
signed the constitution. Voted that the bell be rung
at the time our meeting begins on Tuesday eve provided
permission be obtained from Mr Adams. The parts
for the next meeting were then assigned and the
Society adjourned. Attest. F.W. Crocker Sec.

April 20th. Society convened. After the opening of the meeting
Cleveland, Swift and Smith declaimed, and the question whether
a public or private education was most beneficial was
debated by Bartlett and French on the affirmative and
Evans and McLane on the negative. The debate was
decided in the affirmative. The parts for the next
meeting were then made known and the Society adjourned.
