Bunches Bend June 7th 1868
This is to certify, to whom it may comcen
that we Anthony Owen & William Gaiter were
present when all the hands working on the
Black Bayou plantation owned by Gory Hood
signed & transfered all of their interest in
the crop of cotton belonging to them, made
in the years 1865 & 1866 He the said Simmons
having furnished supplies & goods to us in
both of the said years for which we pledged
to him our crop or so much as was necessary
to pay him for all the advances to us & the
hands working under the four squads represented
under the heads of Phoeleny Dyer, Anthony Owens
William Gaiter & Paul Jones
as witness or mark
