[From our correspondent.]
There is still a cry of dull times here, and
constantly hoping for better, which I trust
will soon come. I have very little news to
send you this week there being so little
doing.
On Thursday 27th ultimo, Tom (a black
tracker) was brought up on remand before
A. B. J. Chauvel, Esq., J.P., on a charge of
murdering a gin at the police camp. There
being no further evidence in the matter, no
one but blacks having been in camp when
the affair occurred, the bench dismissed the
prisoner.
