in accordance with the petition

and accounts brought up a Report (Number 414
Book E.) which was read

That the report of the Committee on Finance
and accounts be received and adopted

In amendment

Ald. Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald. J. Wilson

That the sum of two hundred dollars be
added to the report of the Finance Committee for the
Celebration of Dominion Day to be expended on Fire
Works and Athletic sports in the City and that the
report be adopted as so amended - which being put was
carried

That the Council go into Committee of the
whole on the By Law regarding the appointment of
assessors

That the discussion of the By Law be postponed
for three months - which being put was carried and
