On Tuesday I dined with
old William Blackwood, who is
getting rather frail. On Wednesday
I dined with the Ecksteins – a
fine millionaire's dinner – fresh
strawberries, plovers' eggs, hooky noses
& diamonds. Last night I dined
with the Malcolms, and evaded with
difficulty Angela's curiosity as to
the nature of my S. Africa case.
My indigestion is better, thank you,
but I am very tired. However
that will be over by the time
Ushant shuts the door on me.
