How go the Blythswood Sq. negotiations. I hope we may be able to stay on. Tell Mother not to be dull about Hutchison. Poor Tom Nelson is quite unwell in Edinburgh & can't come down to our Caledonian Dinner to-morrow. Neither can Ronald Macdonald.

Dalhousie has gone to Egypt & Lovat to Abyssinia. Alastair Fraser is in Alaska, Edward Lindsay in Russia, & Lyell in the Himalayas. So it is proposed to hold the next dinner of the Club at Khartoum, as being on the whole more central.

I had a nice lunch with Meldrum in town. He is a very humorous, simple sort of man. He says that Willie Hutchison has got a daughter. On Friday I met Foster Carr, and went to the Rembrandt Gallery with Algy Wyndham & his mother & sister. I enjoyed it very much.
