busy. I shall send on Today to Willie this afternoon. I had forgotten you wanted it. Also ask Mother if she is serious about wanting me to send back my big coat.
How go the Blythswood Sq. negotiations. I hope we may be able to stay on. Tell Mother not to be dull about Hutchison. Poor Tom Nelson is quite unwell in Edinburgh & can't come down to our Caledonian Dinner to-morrow. Neither can Ronald Macdonald.

Dalhousie has gone to Egypt & Lovat to Abyssinia. Alastair Fraser is in Alaska, Edward Lindsay in Russia, & Lyell in the Himalayas. So it is proposed to hold the next dinner of the Club at Khartoum, as being on the whole more central.
I have just been going over with Belloc the small private memorial-volume to Hubert Howard. It is going to be exceedingly well done. I am going to be exceedingly busy this term, for the Union is going to worry me, & my Greats work demanding time. I have just finished correcting the last proof of my Lost Lady, & mailed them to

I had a nice lunch with Meldrum in town. He is a very humorous, simple sort of man. He says that Willie Hutchison has got a daughter. On Friday I met Foster Carr, and went to the Rembrandt Gallery with Algy Wyndham & his mother & sister. I enjoyed it very much.
John Edgar is busy rowing. The floods are out for miles, and men have to coach on the towpath from horses, frequently swimming their beasts. With love to all
