I had a nice lunch with
Meldrum in town. He is a very
humorous, simple sort of man. He
says that Willie Hutchison has got
a daughter. On Friday I met
Foster Carr, and went to the Rembrandt
Gallery with Algy Wyndham & his mother
& sister. I enjoyed it
very much.

John Edgar is busy rowing. The
floods are out for miles, and men
have to coach on the towpath from
horses, frequently swimming their
