3 TEMPLE GARDENS,
TEMPLE.

My dear old Motherkin
I warpled to get your letter
yesterday for I really thought my
cruel relatives had entirely forsaken
me. I sent off Father's book
yesterday: I hope he will like
them, and I wish him many happy
returns of his birthday. Such is his
invincible distaste for theology, that
I expect to find the Theological
Essays uncut when I come down

Any ideas for 'woofled', 'wargled' etc.? There's the odd bit of dialect later in the letter, but I can't find anything to fit this. It must be some expression of delight.
