My dearest wee Mother
I had a very pleasant journey home yesterday. I lunched with Ian, & found Lady de Vesci, Susie's cousin, in the train, so I got company all the way to London. Susie & Nan were out at a play when I arrived. They are both very well. Susie is delighted with & very grateful for the eggs & fowl & honey, all of which arrived safely.
The children are well, but Mr John is going through one of his fierce moods, when he takes a low view of

the world & his fellow creatures.
Isabel Reid is coming to tea this afternoon.
I send you a letter from George Anderson. He is a decent soul. Nan says she doesn't know Isobel Henderson's address. Will you send it here?
This is a fine spring day & I am very busy, as always after a visit to Scotland. I saw Strachey this morning, who is convinced that the government is done.
Much love to all
Your affectionate son
John
