My dearest wee Mother

I am writing this very early in the moring in order to catch the post-girl who brings up letters. Today is St Swithins, & also the anniversary of our wedding. Saturday was a poor day, but yesterday rained without intermission. Today promises to be better.

The children are very well & funny. Billy Fish [ST - William] is getting an engaging way. He is quite as advanced as a child of 5 & so wee. Tell Walter to read a book called "Eminent Victorians" by Lytton Strachey. It is extremely good. I have almost finished my story. I hope to stay down here till Wednesday morning.
