interesting list of V.C.s in the paper today. I see the Gunner, whose guns
Francis helped to save, has got the V.C. It is sad to see how many
of the recipients are now dead.

I have got all my lantern slides from [Parrett?] & they
look a very good lot. I expect I shall make a fiasco tonight.
My throat is practically all right now.

I hope you got my wire in good time this morning. I
sent it off at 8 o'clock.
