Did you ever see anything like the way Hodder is advertising Greenmantle!
"J.B's Glorious Novel" I do hope the old thing goes well. I have
been writing a lot of good Scots verses out here, & think of collecting my
poems into a small book.

Comfort poor wee mother, who is very disturbed by Alastair's
going. He is to be a captain in the 15th R. Scots. I must hunt him up
as soon as possible.

How is my learned little Wozer? I do hope, my little one, you
are well & keeping as cheery as possible.
