both Balfour & the Moderator seem to have spoken very well.

We are very anxious about Alfred Lyttleton who is desperately ill.
- Some kind of sudden twist in the intestines. He was playing cricket last
Wednesday! I must say I shall be terribly sorry if anything should
happen to kind old Alfred.

We leave at ten o'clock to-morrow & get to St Abbs about
6.30. The children are coming to meet us. We will be at
Peebles on Thursday evening.
