Dear Sir,
May I point out two slips in yr most interesting Life of Lord Ardwall?
You speak of Dr. Horatius Bonar congratulating him on going to the Bench. Alas, my Uncle, died in 1889. I was intimately associated with Lord Ardwall for ten years, in the management of a private Charitable Trust - in which he took a lively interest. So when he went up to the Bench I wrote him
Might I notice that you seem to atribute to Samuel Rutherford the Hymn "In Immanuels Land". I believe it was founded on an expression of his, but it was written by Mrs Cousin, within the last 60 years
Excuse me troubling you
Yours most truly
Horatius Bonar
