Dear Sir,
May I point out two slips in yr
most interesting Life of Lord Ardwall?
You speak of Dr. Horatius Bonar con-
gratulating him on going to the Bench.
Alas, my Uncle, died in 1889. I was in-
timately associated with Lord Ardwall for
ten years, in the management of a private
Charitable Trust - in which he took a lively in-
terest. So when he went up to the Bench I
wrote him
Might I notice that you seem to atri-
bute to Samuel Rutherford the Hymn
"In Immanuels Land". I believe it was
founded on an expression of his, but it was
written by Mrs Cousin, within the last 60 years
Excuse me troubling you
Yours most truly
Horatius Bonar
