& public speaking, and I am not ready for that yet. So I have declined,
& mean to go on declining, though great pressure will be put on me to
accept. This is confidential. The job was that of High Commissioner to
the United States. I am greatly honoured, but it can't be done.
Don't mention this to a soul.
Marnie goes away to day, & the nurse comes. Susie is
wonderfully well, & there is good news from the children.
I must try to get down to them for a day this week-end.
I do hope the headaches are better
