My dearest wee Mother

This is a lovely bright day. Mr John
is to be allowed up for a little, & he is perfectly
well, but as he has been starving for a week,
he must go cannily. I am perfectly recovered.
We went to call at Kirtlington Park yesterday,
& then came back by Oxford & weighed Alastair.
He has only lost 7 ozs from his flu', which is
not bad. I had to talk to Reuter's on the
long-distance telephone I have taken the
