line to say with what pleasure I have
recently read, & reviewed in the D.T., your
History of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. So many of
these regimental histories are tomes of arid
detail, so few either focus events in proportion
or give a general historical background to make
the story of the regiment alive & intelligible, that
your book was a refreshing change, the more
so that it was written with your own
