NEW CLUB EDINBURGH

My own little Precious
A very wet morning - which is bad luck for the Royal Scots Parade
I had a pleasant journey yesterday, & found Walter Maxwell-Scott & Rosebery staying in the Club for the dinner. Walter M-S thinks highly of Brian, but is sorry he is leaving the army. I also saw General Cameron. The dinner was a great success. The poor little Princess [ST: Mary] was shivering with nerves. My speech seems to have been liked. They had our four Holyrood

pipers, & the "Desperate Battle" pibroch. The standard was flying at Holyrood for the Princess. She had a very nice Miss Kenyon-Slaney in attendance.
I looked at the sea coming up yesterday & wondered in which trawler the old Earl was. Make my little girl rest & get as much air as possible. I thought she looked very tired on Thursday.
Much love, my own precious. I will write on Monday morning
