Dear Mr Buchan, -

I feel impelled to write a line to thank
you for the cordiality of your welcome to
your beautiful house. I felt much diffidence
in claiming an old acquaintance, & was
correspondingly pleased to find that you had not
forgotten your visit here.

In the post awaiting my return I found a
letter from Thruston - of whose brother I spoke
when recalling old times in Uganda. - He is
now there on a trip in which he wanted
