Following the ceremony of Installation,

Addresses are received and replied to in the following order:

(1) Prime Minister of Canada (In English).
Reply in English.

(2) Premier of the Province of Quebec (In English and in French).
Reply, first in English, then in French.

(3) Mayor of the City of Quebec (In English and in French).
Reply, first in English, then in French.

The Secretary of State is arranging for the
Installation to take place at noon on Friday, the 25th October,
following which a Government Luncheon will be tendered you at
the Chateau Frontenac Hotel. After Luncheon there will be a few
hours of freedom. The Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec gives a
Dinner in your honour at 8.00 p.m. the same evening. After
Dinner you entrain for Ottawa, arriving at the Capital at 3.00 p.m.
on Saturday, 'the 26th October.

The details of the arrangements are not yet
in printed form, but I will be able to lay them before you on
the 24th of this month.

I enclose an article by B.K. Sandwell,
published in the Toronto Saturday Night. In view of what may
be the result of the General Election on the fourteenth, the
article may oe of interest to you.
