be very difficult, with all the banquets. Mrs Spooner called here last week. She was motoring from London to Oxford. She is really wonderful. Just as clear as ever, mentally. but a little slower in her movements.

Professor Butler came down to lunch one day. His family were all scattered, but were to meet for a holiday in the Station.

John has been very busy with an index for his new volume. but it is now finished. & he is having a holiday from literature.
