[JAS - Calgary speech]

My dear Governor General:

This morning's papers, reporting
your Excellency's speech at Calgary
yesterday, contains the following
statements, in quotations:

"Canada has to think out a
policy of defence, and take steps
to implement it"

"This Dominion must have a
militia, not too large but fully
equipped and perfectly trained"

"No country can afford to
be without a defence policy"
