AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE ISSUE OF BONDS.

Whereas, on the 1st day of July,
1901, five thousand dollars of the Atlanta
and Charlotte Air Line Railway
bonds issued by this city fell due and
the same has not been paid and it is
desireable that refunding coupon
bonds for the payment of same be issued.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and
Aldermen in Council assembled and
by the authority of the same:

That the issue of five thousand dollars
refunding coupon bonds be and
is hereby authorized to be made, the
same to be the refunding of that
amount of the Atlanta and Charlotte
Air Line Railway bonds due July 1st,
1901, and not yet paid, said bonds to
be of the denomination of five hundred
dollars each, due twenty years
from the 1st of January, 1903, at the
rate of 5 per cent interest per annum,
payable semi-annually on the
first days of January and July of
each year in Greenville or New York
at the option of the holder.

That the Clerk and Treasurer advertise
for sealed bids for the purchase
of same, up to the 6th day of
December, 1902, and that a certified
check be required with each bid to
the amount of five per cent of same,
and that the right to reject any or all
bids be reserved.

this the 4th day of November,

NOTICE.

Until the 16th day of December,
1902, at the office of the City Clerk
and Treasurer of the City of Greenville,
S. C., sealed bids will be received
for the purchase of five thousand
dollars of coupon bonds to be issued
by the City Council of Greenville for
the purpose of refunding the above
amount of Atlanta and Charlotte Air
Line. Railway bonds due July 1st,
1901.

Said bonds to bear date January 1,
1903, and to be made payable twenty
years from date of the same, interest
at the rate of five per cent per annum,
payable semi-annually on the
1st days of January and July of each
year in Greenville, S. C., or New York,
at the option of the holder said
bonds to be of the denomination of
five hundred dollars each.

The right to reject any and all bids
is hereby reserved.

With each bid must be a certifies
check for five per cent of the amount

AN ORDINANCE
-
TO REGULATE THE CARRYING,
Manufacturing, Sale and Use of
Pistols in the City of Greenville.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and
the City Council of the City of
Greenville, in Council assembled,
and by the authority of the same;
That from and after the passage of
this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful
for any person to carry about his or
her person, whether concealed or not,
any pistol less than twenty inches
in length and three pounds in
weight; and it shall also be unlaw-
ful for any person, firm or corpora-
tion to manufacture, sell, lease, rent
or otherwise dispose of, or offer for
sale, lease, rent or other like use, or
transport for such sale or use into
this City, any pistol of less length
and weight.

PROVIDED the provisions of this
ordinance shall not apply to peace
officers in the discharge of their
duty, or to the carrying of pistols
by persons on their own premises.

Any person, firm or corporation,
violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance, upon conviction, shall be
fined by the Mayor, or acting Mayor,
not more than Fifty Dollars, or im-
prisoned, not more than thirty days,
or both fined and imprisoned within
the above limits in the discretion of
the said Mayor or acting Mayor. All
ordinances and parts of ordinances
inconsistent with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.

Ratified and done in Council as-
sembled, this the first day of Decem-
ber, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and three.
