duplicate copies with the seal of the City of Greenville,
and shall deliver one of these copies so signed and
sealed on behalf of the City to said American Pipe Man-
ufacturing Company, and accept the other when signed
and sealed by them on behalf of said City and cause it
to be properly acknowledged and recorded according to
law. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent
herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after the date of its
acceptance.

Done and ratified, in Council assembled, under the
Coporate Seal of the City, this fifteenth day of
[L.S.] July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ninety.

[center] SUPPLEMENT TO AN ORDINANCE
"To grant The American Pipe Manufacturing Company, a
corporation organized under the laws of the State of
New Jersey, with office in Philadelphia, who are to pro-
cure the organization of a Water Company and enter
into a contract with the Water Company to construct a
system of water works for the City of Greenville, South
Carolina, subject to the provision of ordinance of Coun-
cils," approved August 2d, 1890. Whereas The Ameri-
can Pipe Manufacturing Company procured the organi-
zation of a Company styled "Paris Mountain Water
Company, of Greenville, South Carolina," and said
Water Company have constructed a system of water
works in the said City of Greenville in accordance with
