104 Ordinances of the City of Greenville.

dinance, it shall not be lawful for any person or persons
to ride or drive any animal or bicyle on the left side of
the middle of any street or thoroughfare within the in-
corporate limites of the said City, but that all persons,
riding or driving over said streets or thoroughfares in
either direction, shall constantly keep the centre of said
streets or thoroughfares on their left.

It also shall be unlawful for any person to walk on the
left side of the middle of any sidewalk within the incor-
porate limits of the said City, and all pedestrians shall
keep the centre of the sidewalk on their left.

It also shall be unlawful for any person to ride a tricycle
or push or roll a baby carriage on the left side of the
middle of any sidewalk within the inorporate limits of
the said City, and persons riding tricycles, pushing or
rolling baby carriages, shall keepto the centre of the
sidewalk on their left. That not more than two baby
carriages shall be pushed or rolled abreast while on said
sidewalk

That nothing contained herein shall prevent any person
or persons from riding, driving or walking on the left
side of the middle of any of said streets or sidewalks
when it is necessary to avoid any temporary obstruc-
tion.

That any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be fined not less than one dollar to not
more than fifty dollars, or be imprisoned not less than
five days or more than thirty days.

That all ordinances or parts or ordinances heretofore
passed by the City Council, inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this ordinances, be, and the same are hereby,
repealed.

Done and ratified under the Corporate Seal of the City of
Greenville, this the sixth day of June, in the year
[L.S.] of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine-
