Venice, Italy.

Venice has streets made of water. Thsi [in ink it shows the sign to swap the s and i to correct the spelling to This] marvelous city was built on
island so that canals connect the different parts of the city and
not streets.

Venice was once the most important commercial center of the Medi-
terranean world. The Doges Palace and St. Mark's Cathedral are two of the
most magnificent buildings in the world.

We have in our walls an original building brick from St. Mark's. It
is at least 600 years old. St. Mark's was re-built three times. It is
not known of which period our brick was first used. This remarkable
souvenir was presented to camp by Ing. Luigi Marangoni of the cathedral
staff.
